On Sunday, February 12th, New York City was wrapped in a blanket of snow, wind and rain. It was only a few days before Valentine’s Day and AJ Mye had been planning this moment for weeks.
He and his girlfriend Amanda were visiting New York City and staying near Washington Square Park, a location that holds sentimental value in their relationship. The weather wasn’t ideal but AJ saw it as a chance to show Amanda that together, they could weather any storm.
Shortly after noon, in the middle of Washington Square Park, as they strolled hand-in-hand under an umbrella, Andrew dropped to one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. He presented her with a gorgeous engagement ring from the JCPenney Modern Bride collection. Amanda was overjoyed in the moment and excitedly proclaimed, “yes!” She was instantly in love with her new ring and more in love with AJ than ever.
The celebration moved indoors as friends and family of the couple popped bubbly and celebrated the first official toast to the new bride and groom-to-be.
The couple is beyond thrilled for their next journey together and planning for a 2018 wedding.
